	If you search "wannarexic" on google, this journal is the second result that turns up. Cool, eh? My user pic is also one of the pics that shows up on GIS for the search term "wannarexic". I'm taking over the internet. :D

Why?
I'm getting really fucking sick of ignorant little twats glamorizing eating disorders. The beautiful women they use as thinspiration, the "thin commandments", all of the bullshit they spread about anorexia -- none of this is the reality. Anorexia is a life-threatening mental illness, it's not a trend you can pick up and use to your liking.

Wannarexics

Wannarexics are teenaged girls who believe that anorexia is a fun, trendy, glamorous way to lose weight. They crash-diet, claiming that they're anorexic. Often, they will post images of extremely slim celebrities (Nicole Richie, Kate Moss, Mary-Kate Olsen) as "thinspiration". They attempt to make anorexia out to be a quick way to lose weight. Some even go far enough to claim that anorexia is a lifestyle, and not a mental illness.

Who am I?

I am a 23-year-old sufferer of anorexia, currently torn between recovery and reverting back to my old habits (I had to gain weight recently for surgery). Anorexia has destroyed my life. I wish I could turn back time and prevent myself from developing this horrible illness. There is NOTHING I want more than to be able to live a normal life again... but I'll never have that. Anorexia follows you for the rest of your life. The nagging voice in your head that tells you that you're too fat, not good enough and a failure will always be with you.
My main Xanga is ventricularX_Xfibrillation.

And for the record...

This journal is not here to mock genuine sufferers of anorexia. I know how hard it is to battle this illness, and that nothing in my Xanga can possibly cure someone of anorexia.
The purpose here is to show wannarexics the reality of eating disorders. I want them to see what is in store for them if they succeed in "catching" anorexia. I also want them to see exactly what genuine sufferers go through each an every day, and hopefully show them that what they're doing is a cruel joke on all the real anorexics out there.
